COLUMBIA, Mo. (July 16th, 2025) – The 2025 13 & Under Junior Amateur Championship kicked off today at L.A. Nickell Golf Course in Columbia. Thirty-three young junior golfers teed off in the first of two rounds of stroke play to compete for the highest honors in their respective divisions.

Blaine Munzlinger (Columbia) leads the 12-13 boys’ division at 1-under 69. Munzlinger’s round was highlighted by four birdies. Derrick Douglass (Moberly) is in second with a 4-over 74. Briggs Smith (Warrensburg) and Judge Farzan (Jackson) are tied for third at 5-over 75. Smith started the day strong at 1-under 34 on the front nine before a challenging back nine led him to a 5-over finish. Farzan ended the first nine holes at even-par 35 with an eagle, before entering a rough back nine. 

In the 12-13 girls’ division, Cassandra Breauchy (Arnold) stands alone at the top of the division. Breauchy ended her eighteen-hole round at 60-over 130.

Rexton Vandegriff (Belle) leads the 9-11 boys’ division with a 6-over 76. Vandegriff started his round strong with two birdies and only one bogy on the front nine. Closely behind is Henry Russell (Fulton) in second place shooting a 7-over 77. Andrew Moss (Sedalia) claims third with a 10-over 80 to end Day 1.

In the 9-11 girls’ division, Emma Patterson (Columbia) sits atop the division after carding a 39-over 109. Hatley Evers (Eldon) follows behind at 56-over 126 to take second place. 

The following divisions played nine holes of stroke play:

As the sole competitor in the  6-8 boys’ division, Gannon Grigery (Ashland) carded a 10-over 45 during today’s round.

Emerson Munzlinger (Columbia) tops the leaderboard in the 6-8 girls’ division, sitting at 6-over 41. Munzlinger recorded four pars during her nine-hole round. Allison Knaebel (Columbia) is in second at 19-over 54. 

Tee times for Day 2 begin tomorrow at 8:00 a.m.
