FARMINGTON, Mo. (July 8th, 2025) – The 41st Junior Amateur Championship continued today at Crown Pointe Golf Club, where junior golfers from across the state competed in the second round of stroke play qualifying. After a competitive two days of golf, 63 of 143 players will advance to tomorrow’s championship round.

In the girls’ division, 16 players qualified for the final round, with the cut line landing at 13-over 157.

Betsy Mitchell (Kansas City, Class of 2029) maintained her spot on top of the leaderboard for the second consecutive day. She carded an even-par 72 in today’s round, bringing her two-day total to 4-under 140. Mitchell, who started 2-over through three holes, turned things around with back-to-back birdies on holes four and five – part of her five total birdies on the day.

Tied for second with an even-par 144 are Kate Ryan (Columbia, Class of 2025) and KC Lenox (St. Peters, class of 2025). Ryan, a Coastal Carolina signee, posted a 1-under 71 – the lowest score of the day. Lenox, a Lindenwood University commit, finished 2-under 34 on the first nine before facing a challenging stretch on the back nine.

Julia Schlitt (Jackson, class of 2026) and Addie Swan (Lees Summit, class of 2027) are tied for fourth after each finishing the first two days at 2-over 146. Schlitt made three birdies to start her round to finish the front nine at 1-under 35. After a rough start, Swan carded a bogey-free back nine to finish the day with a 3-over 75.

The top sixteen in the girls’ division saw three members of the class of 2029 moving on to the championship round. Betsy Mitchell (Kansas City), Haven Evers (Eldon) and Alexi Omillian (Kansas City) are entering their freshman year of high school, but are already putting the pressure on their older competitors.

47 golfers from the boys’ division are advancing to tomorrow’s championship round. The cut line landed at 6-over 150.

Harper Ackermann (Webster Groves, class of 2025), Chayton Jordan (Rolla, class of 2025) and Anson Munzlinger (Columbia, class of 2028) share the lead at 11-under 133. All three golfers recorded bogey-free front nines. Ackermann, a University of West Florida commit, and Jordan, a Missouri S&T commit, each fired impressive rounds of 7-under 65, each having six birdies and an eagle. Munzlinger trailed closely with a 5-under 67. Munzlinger’s round was highlighted with six birdies.

Ben Gelven (St. Louis, class of 2025) is in fourth after shooting a 4-under 68 contributing to his 9-under 135. Gelven, an Illinois Wesleyan commit, carded six birdies and an eagle during today’s 18 hole match. 

Hank Homsey (Overland Park, class of 2027) finished the second round at 8-under 136 (68,68). Homsey posted 5 birdies during the first nine holes to end the front 5-under 31. 

Tee times for the championship round begin tomorrow at 7:00 a.m.
