Viskari Shoots 7-under to Advance to Missouri Amateur Championship

O’FALLON, Mo. (June 5, 2025) – Veikka Viskari (Columbia) claimed first-place at today’s Missouri Amateur Qualifier at The Falls Golf Club in O’Fallon. Viskari, who recently finished his first season on the Mizzou Men’s Golf Team, ended the round 7-under 64, with seven birdies and an albatross.

David Stickland (Fenton) finished second with 6-under 65 after an impressive back nine. Stickland started the back with four birdies, a par and an eagle, ending 7-under 28 on the last nine holes.

David Schilp (Creve Coeur) claimed third place shooting 5-under 66. Landon Mabe (Steelville) and Will Dugal (Bonne Terre) both shot 3-under 68. Logan Lowery (Caseyville), Eric Ewing (St. Louis), Colin Pini (Cottleville), Ryan Sullivan (Imperial) and Bryce Renz (St. Charles) finished 2-under 69.

The other players to break par with 1-under 70 included Cole Wiese (High Ridge), Greg Sanborn (Ellisville), Daymond Dollens (Hannibal), AJ Porter (Chesterfield) and Gaite Brauns (Hannibal). 

The cut to qualify landed at 2-over 73. A 7-for-3 playoff resulted in Ronnie Strong (Jackson), Brayden Buffington (Frankford) and Brian Whitson (Dexter) claiming the remaining three spots after an intense five hole playoff.

Chad Menke (St. Charles) finished the playoff as the first alternate and AJ Cooper (Hannibal) earned the second alternate spot.
