Team Missouri Captures Third Consecutive Junior Girls Four-State Championship

June 30, 2026

NORWALK, Ia (June 30, 2026) – Team Missouri continued its dominance at the Junior Girls Four-State Competition, capturing its third consecutive team championship at Echo Valley Country Club.

Hosted this year by the Iowa Golf Association, the annual competition features six-player teams made up of girls ages 14-18 representing Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska. Competition began with Four-Ball and Foursomes matches on Monday before concluding with singles matches on Tuesday.

Representing Team Missouri were Betsy Mitchell of Kansas City (Staley High School), Alexi Omillian of Kansas City (Staley High School), Haven Evers of Eldon (Eldon High School), Page Bowman of Springfield (Glendale High School), Lisa Zhang of St. Louis (MICDS) and Addie Swan of Lee’s Summit (Raymore-Peculiar High School).

Played under hot temperatures and strong winds throughout both days, Team Missouri wasted little time taking control of the competition.

Missouri opened Monday by sweeping all three Four-Ball matches they competed in, earning three points to jump into the early lead. During the afternoon Foursomes session, the duo of Page Bowman of Springfield and Lisa Zhang of St. Louis delivered one of the day’s most impressive performances. After falling 3 down on the front nine, Bowman and Zhang battled back by winning five holes on the back nine to secure a 2 & 1 victory and Missouri’s lone point of the session.

The strong opening day gave Missouri a tournament-leading four points, followed by Iowa with 3.5 points, Kansas with three points and Nebraska with 1.5 points heading into Tuesday’s singles matches.

Missouri put the championship out of reach during Tuesday’s singles competition, winning five of its six matches to finish with nine total points and secure the title.

Lisa Zhang opened the day with a 2 & 1 victory over Iowa’s Jaylee Shaffer before Haven Evers of Eldon defeated Nebraska’s Eden Larson, 3 & 2. Page Bowman followed with a 2 & 1 victory over Kansas’ Maddie Myers, while Addie Swan of Lee’s Summit earned a commanding 5 & 4 win against Nebraska’s Molly Goc. Betsy Mitchell of Kansas City capped Missouri’s dominant singles performance with a 5 & 3 victory over Kansas’ Savannah Cagle.

Missouri finished with nine points to claim the championship, followed by Kansas with seven points, Iowa with 4.5 points and Nebraska with 3.5 points.

The championship marks Missouri’s third consecutive Junior Girls Four-State title. Returning players Betsy Mitchell and Page Bowman helped Team Missouri successfully defend last year’s championship, while Vice-Captain Avery McLaughlin continued her connection to the program after competing on Missouri’s previous two championship teams before joining the coaching staff this year. Head Captain Reese Hamilton has now guided Team Missouri to three consecutive Junior Girls Four-State championships since taking over the role as captain in 2023.
