ST. LOUIS, Mo. (July 11, 2024) — The Missouri Golf Association is proud to announce that Benjamin Berger of St. Charles is the 2024 Missouri Stroke Play Champion! Yesterday, the MGA concluded the final round of the 27th annual Stroke Play Championship at Glen Echo Country Club.
The second round of 18-hole stroke play was completed on Wednesday morning. After making the cut in the afternoon, the championship round of 18-hole stroke play began with a shotgun start at 4:08 p.m. A total of 47 players made the cut at 6-over.
Benjamin Berger (St. Charles), a rising sophomore at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, emerged victorious with a total gross score of 7-under, 206 (68, 68, 70) over the three rounds. Berger demonstrated remarkable skill, carding nine birdies and three eagles, two of which occurred during the first round. Berger had previously competed in the 2024 Missouri Amateur Championship earlier this season, where he shot 5-over and advanced to the round of 64 after a playoff.
Easton Johnson (Kansas City) finished as the runner-up with a total gross score of 6-under, 207 (66, 70, 71). Johnson, a rising junior at the University of Louisville and the 2023 Golf Coaches Association of America Jack Nicklaus Award winner, showcased his talent with 13 birdies over the three rounds and only one bogey during his first round. Johnson also won the 2023 NAIA Men’s Golf Individual Championship.
Tyler Peasel (Columbia) secured third place with a total gross score of 5-under, 208 (68, 68, 72). Peasel, who competed in the 2024 Missouri Amateur Championship, impressed with 15 birdies over the three rounds.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (July 9, 2024) — The Missouri Golf Association is excited to provide an update on the 27th annual Stroke Play Championship at Glen Echo Country Club, where the competition is heating up despite challenging weather conditions.
The championship kicked off on Monday, July 8, with 148 players embarking on the first round of 18 holes. However, due to inclement weather, play was suspended, and several players had to mark their balls as the course became unplayable. The first round was completed on Tuesday, July 9, with all players finishing their initial 18 holes.
Jimmy Siegfried (St. Louis) leads the field with an impressive score of 6-under, 65. Sigfried went bogey-free and carded six birdies during the first round. He recently showcased his skills at the 2024 Missouri Amateur Championship at St. Joseph Country Club.
Easton Johnson (Kansas City) follows closely in second place with a score of 5-under, 66. Johnson, a rising junior at the University of Louisville, also made it to the semifinal round of the Missouri Amateur Championship. He started his second round this morning, shooting even par through seven holes before the rain delay.
Max Harres (Kirkwood) holds third place with a score of 4-under, 67. Harres began his second round today, shooting 2-over through seven holes, bringing his current gross score to 2-under.
The second round will resume as soon as conditions allow on Wednesday, July 10, when the 2024 Stroke Play Champion will be crowned.
