SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The 2023 Missouri Golf Association season began today, April 17, 2023, with a Senior Series event held at Highland Springs Country Club in Springfield, Missouri. The highly anticipated opening event had a full field of 90 players who played a round of stroke play beginning with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start.
Senior Series events are open to male golfers who are members of the MGA and 50 years of age or older. Competitors compete in flights based on their age as of April 17, 2023.
Winning the 50-54 Open flight, Tod Rose (West Plains) shot par, 72.
David Pfeil (Eureka) won the 55-59 Open flight at 1 over, 73.
Steve Groom (Raytown) was the winner of the 60-64 Open flight with a score of four over, 76.
Parker Morgan (Springfield) won the 65-69 Open flight after shooting three over, 75.
Finally, Don Kuehn (Kansas City) and Robert Trittler (Wentzville) tied for the lead in the 70+ Open flight at six over par, 78.
Doug Grooms (Camdenton) took home first in the 50-58 Net flight after two under, 70.
George Barkho (Fulton) took home the title in the 59-64 Net flight with a score of four under, 68.
Terry Farmer (Warrensburg) was the winner of the 65-69 Net flight at three under, 69.
In the 70-74 Net flight, William Hubble (Jefferson City) came out on top after shooting par.
Lastly, shooting one over, 73, Gerald Oney (Walnut Shade) won the 75+ Net flight.
