Senior Series Old Kinderhook Day 1 Recap

CAMDENTON, Mo. – Today, Aug. 30, 88 senior golfers competed in a Senior Series event held at Old Kinderhook in Camdenton, Mo. Golfers teed off with a 12 p.m. shotgun start looking to shoot the lowest score in a round of stroke play.

Senior Series events are open to golfers who are members of the MGA and 50 years of age or older. Competitors compete in flights based on their age as of April 18, 2022. 

Winning the 50-54 Open flight, Sean McQueary (Springfield) shot six over par, 77. 

The winner of the 55-59 Open flight was David Pfeil (Eureka) at three under, 68.

Steve Groom (Raytown) and David Diemer (St. Louis) tied for first in the 60-64 Open flight at four over par, 75. 

Anthony Brown (St. Louis) won the 65-69 Open flight after shooting six over, 77.

Finally, Don Kuehn (Kansas City) held the lead in the 70+ Open flight at one under, 70.

Tim Borman (Kingdom City) took home first in the 50-59 Net flight after shooting par, 71. 

Tim Blasi (Ozark) was the winner of the 60-64 Net flight at two under, 69.

In the 65-69 Net flight, Mike Schooley (Columbia) came out on top after shooting two under, 69. 

Lastly, the 70+ Net flight was won by Gerald Oney (Walnut Shade) at two over, 73.

ABOUT MGA:

The Missouri Golf Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the best interests and true spirit of the game of golf throughout the State of Missouri. The Missouri Golf Association was started in St. Louis in 1905 to run the Amateur Championship. Four founding clubs would be the ones in existence in St. Louis in those early years – St. Louis Country Club, Algonquin Golf Club, Glen Echo Golf Club and Normandie Golf Club. Four years later, the invite-only Missouri Amateur was held in Kansas City at Evanston Club. 1911 marked the real organization of the MGA with Bonner Miller as Secretary and Executive Director. Ever since then, the MGA has striven to provide tournaments and spaces for Missouri golfers to sharpen their skills and enjoy the game.
