Senior Series Brings Two-Day Test to Big Cedar Lodge

HOLLISTER, Mo. (Aug. 19, 2025) – The Missouri Golf Association’s Senior Series hosted a two-day stop this week at Big Cedar Lodge, with golfers competing Monday at Ozarks National and Tuesday at Buffalo Ridge.

In the 50-54 Open Division, Todd Rose (West Plains) secured the win with rounds of 71–76 for a 5-over 147. Rose’s opening round at Ozarks National featured five birdies, all coming on the back nine. Tony Nolfo (Festus) finished runner-up at 7-over 149, followed by Darin Baldwin (Warrensburg) at 16-over 158.

The 55-59 Open Division was captured by Troy Bell (Poplar Bluff), who posted rounds of 89–81 for a 170 total.

In the 60-64 Open Division, David Pfeil (Eureka) led the field at even-par 142 with rounds of 70–72. Pfeil posted three birdies during his front nine at Ozarks National and added four more at Buffalo Ridge. Dan Luebbert finished second at 5-over 147, and Bobby Godwin (Poplar Bluff) placed third at 10-over 152.

BJ Curry (Sunrise Beach) topped the 65-69 Open Division with a 7-over 149 (71–78), including five birdies during his opening round. Mike O’Neil (St. Louis) was second at 154, and Gordon Smith (St. Charles) took third at 155.

The 70+ Open Division saw Tony Brown (St. Louis) and Ron Eilers (Columbia) finish tied for first at 14-over 155. Will Bealke (Des Peres) followed in third.

On the Net side, Mark McCarter (Jefferson City) earned the 50-59 title at 9-over 151 (72–79). He was followed by Justin Buttram (Centerview) at 152 and Eric Austin (Raymore) at 154.

The 60-64 Net Division was won by Mike Domenick (Festus), who shot 68–73 for a 1-under 141. Bill Moseman (Blue Eye) and Scott Wingert (Camdenton) tied for second at 5-over 147.

In the 65-69 Net Division, Sam Puckett (Holts Summit) took top honors at even-par 141 (72–69). Dave Verhulst (Ballwin) finished second at 148, while Chuck Sutherland (Columbia) placed third at 149.

The 70-74 Net Division ended with a tie at the top between Hugh McKay (Jefferson City) and Mark Benedetto (Columbia), both finishing at 5-over 146. Steven Long (Ashland) placed third at 152.

Ben Ellis (Sunrise Beach) led the 75+ Net Division with a 154 (76–78). Craig Larson (Manchester) finished second at 156, and Lee Larscheid (Kansas City) came in third at 159.
