JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (July 25, 2024) – On National Intern Day, we proudly spotlight the talented individuals who have been instrumental in our success at the Missouri Golf Association. Our summer internships, funded by the USGA P.J. Boatwright Grant, are designed to inspire and cultivate future leaders in golf administration. These internships provide invaluable hands-on experience in tournament management, from processing entries and course set-up to event administration and member assistance.
Josh Bradley, hailing from Columbia, Missouri, is a Sport Management major at the University of Missouri, set to graduate in May 2025. His favorite part about working for the MGA is collaborating with a team passionate about golf and tournament coordination while forming valuable relationships within Missouri’s golf industry. A fun fact about Josh is that he is the head Junior Varsity Basketball Coach at Christian Fellowship School. He attended the USGA Boatwright Intern Summit in New Jersey earlier this summer and particularly enjoys working junior events.
Parker Gourley comes from Jefferson City, Missouri, and is also a Sport Management major at the University of Missouri, expecting to graduate in December 2026. Parker appreciates the free meals provided during tournament days. In addition to his role at the MGA, he is the head jumps coach for the Jefferson City High School Track & Field Team. He initially started college as an Education major before switching to Sports Management, reflecting his evolving career interests.
Charlie Hinds, from Jefferson City, Missouri, is majoring in Civil Engineering at the University of Dayton, expecting to graduate in May 2027. Charlie’s favorite aspect of working for the MGA is getting to know the players and visiting various courses across the state. He plays club golf at the University of Dayton and follows in the footsteps of his older sister, Greta, who was an MGA Operations Intern for two years. Charlie also participated in several MGA events as a junior golfer.
Taylor Hovis, from Jefferson City, Missouri, is majoring in Elementary Education at Kansas State University and is set to graduate in May 2026. Taylor loves traveling to new courses and making new friends through her work at the MGA. This is her second year as an Operations Intern for the MGA, and she is well-known to many players and parents, having grown up around the association. Taylor played golf in her younger years and during high school, which adds a personal touch to her current role.
Caroline McCurren, another Jefferson City native, studies Business with an emphasis in Marketing & Advertising at William Woods University, where she will graduate in December 2024. Caroline enjoys the camaraderie between her coworkers and witnessing the junior golfers build relationships, honesty, and integrity. A unique fact about Caroline is that she once had the thrilling experience of sitting on a shark. Known for her positive attitude and constant smile, Caroline has enjoyed learning about golf throughout the season.
Dawson Meek, a Springfield, Missouri native, is a Sport Management major at the University of North Texas, with a graduation date of May 2025. Dawson’s favorite part of working for the MGA is managing tournaments and meeting new people. He didn’t start playing golf until he was 13, but he quickly became familiar with the MGA. Dawson made his mark by winning the 2020 Junior Match Play Championship and recently competed in the 2024 MGA Stroke Play Championship. Dawson currently plays on the University of North Texas Golf Team.
Matt Mueller is from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and studied Sport & Movement Science at Salem State University, graduating in May 2024. Matt enjoys traveling around the state to different courses as part of his work with the MGA. Having lived in five different states, Matt prefers the Midwest and was happy to make a return to Missouri for this position.
We are immensely grateful for the dedication and enthusiasm our interns bring to the MGA. Their hard work and passion for the sport help make our tournaments and events successful. Happy National Intern Day!

ABOUT MGA: The Missouri Golf Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the best interests and true spirit of the game of golf throughout the State of Missouri.
The Missouri Golf Association was started in St. Louis in 1905 to run the Amateur Championship. Four founding clubs would be the ones in existence in St. Louis in those early years – St. Louis Country Club, Algonquin Golf Club, Glen Echo Golf Club and Normandie Golf Club. Four years later, the invite-only Missouri Amateur was held in Kansas City at Evanston Club. 1911 marked the real organization of the MGA with Bonner Miller as Secretary and Executive Director. Ever since then, the MGA has striven to provide tournaments and spaces for Missouri golfers to sharpen their skills and enjoy the game.
