Missouri Golf Association Announces USGA Exemptions for 2025 Champions

November 7, 2024

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (November 7, 2024) — The Missouri Golf Association is excited to announce that our 2025 MGA Champions will once again earn exemptions into some of the most prestigious USGA national amateur tournaments.

Continuing our commitment to providing premier competitive opportunities, the MGA has added a new exemption this year for our Boys Junior Match Play Champion, alongside returning exemptions for other major state champions. This recognition allows these athletes to represent Missouri on a national stage, competing against top amateur golfers from across the country.

The 2025 Missouri Amateur Champion will earn an exemption to the U.S. Amateur Championship, held this year at the renowned Olympic Club in San Francisco from August 11-17. Similarly, the Missouri Women’s Amateur Champion will gain entry to the 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, which will be contested at the beautiful Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Oregon, from August 4-10.

New for 2025, the Missouri Boys Junior Match Play Champion will receive an exemption to the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, taking place at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas, from July 21-26. Additionally, the Missouri Girls Junior Match Play Champion will earn a spot in the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, set for July 14-19 at Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Georgia.

Reflecting on the successes of last year, Missouri’s champions competed proudly on the national stage in 2024. Brad Nurski (St. Joseph), the 2024 Missouri Amateur Champion, represented Missouri at the U.S. Amateur Championship at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota, finishing in 137th place in a highly competitive field. Brooke Biermann (Wildwood), the 2024 Missouri Women’s Amateur Champion, competed in the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and delivered a strong performance to place 65th. Emree Cameron (Nevada), our 2024 Missouri Girls’ Junior Match Play Champion, took to the course at El Caballero Country Club in Tarzana, California, for the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, finishing in 136th place and gaining valuable experience at one of the top events for young female golfers.

The MGA congratulates these exceptional golfers and eagerly anticipates the achievements of the 2025 champions. We encourage Missouri’s golfers to stay tuned for the release of our 2025 MGA Championship schedule, where they will have the opportunity to compete for these state titles and perform on the national stage.
