In Loving Memory of Patricia Mary Will

July 26, 2024

Patricia Mary Will of Saint Charles, MO, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, at the age of 86. A beloved figure in the Missouri golf community, Pat’s life was marked by her dedication to family, passion for golf, and exceptional service to various golf associations.

An avid golfer, Pat spent countless hours on the greens representing the Lady’s National Golf Association (formerly the St. Louis Women’s Golf Association), where she often assisted younger golfers at their tournaments. Her love for the sport was matched only by her kindness and compassion, making her a beacon of support and encouragement to all who knew her.

Pat’s dedication to the golf community extended beyond her time on the course. She served as the President of the Missouri Women’s Golf Association (MWGA) from 2003 to 2005 and was a recipient of the Bernice Edlund Award in 1996. Known for her talent with computers, Pat managed multiple websites, including those for the Accelerated Golf Tour, Women’s Trans National Golf Association, and St. Louis Women’s Golf Association. Her contributions were pivotal in enhancing communication and organization within these associations.

The Missouri Golf Association joins the St. Louis golf community in mourning the loss of Pat Will. Her legacy of dedication, compassion, and service will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time. Pat’s contributions to the golf community and her unwavering kindness have left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She was a true treasure and will be greatly missed.

ABOUT MGA: The Missouri Golf Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the best interests and true spirit of the game of golf throughout the State of Missouri.

The Missouri Golf Association was started in St. Louis in 1905 to run the Amateur Championship. Four founding clubs would be the ones in existence in St. Louis in those early years – St. Louis Country Club, Algonquin Golf Club, Glen Echo Golf Club and Normandie Golf Club. Four years later, the invite-only Missouri Amateur was held in Kansas City at Evanston Club. 1911 marked the real organization of the MGA with Bonner Miller as Secretary and Executive Director. Ever since then, the MGA has striven to provide tournaments and spaces for Missouri golfers to sharpen their skills and enjoy the game.
