Championship Match Set at 119th Missouri Amateur Championship

June 27, 2026

KANSAS CITY (June 27, 2026) – The stage is set for Sunday’s 36-hole championship match at the 119th Missouri Amateur Championship after a full day of quarterfinal and semifinal match play narrowed the field to two players at Milburn Country Club.

Players began Saturday under heavy overcast skies during the morning quarterfinals before conditions shifted dramatically throughout the afternoon. Sunshine, temperatures near 80 degrees and steady winds between 10 and 15 mph greeted the semifinal matches, providing a different challenge as the championship match was decided.

Logan Mayo of Tontitown, Arkansas, earned his place in Sunday’s final with a pair of convincing victories. Mayo opened the day by defeating Tony Gumper of Saint Charles, 4 & 2, in the quarterfinals before advancing with a 3 & 2 semifinal victory over Harper Ackermann of Webster Groves.

Hunter Parrish of Columbia followed a different path to the championship match, highlighted by a dramatic finish in the quarterfinals. After a tightly contested first 16 holes, Parrish was able to win the 17th hole and take a one-hole lead headed into 18. Trailing by one hole, Brady Rapp of Leawood looked to force a playoff. However, on the 18th, Parrish stuck his approach shot within five feet of the hole, eventually leading to his 2-up victory and a place in the semifinals.

Parrish continued his strong play later in the afternoon, defeating Alex Hogan of Leawood, 4 & 3, to earn a spot in Sunday’s championship match.

Sunday’s championship match will feature two players at different stages of their golfing careers. Mayo, a member of the University of Missouri–St. Louis men’s golf team, will look to capture the biggest amateur title in the state, while Parrish, one of the championship’s top mid-amateur competitors, aims to secure his first Missouri Amateur title.

Another notable storyline entering Sunday’s final is the presence of four-time Missouri Amateur champion Brad Nurski of St. Joseph on Parrish’s bag. After withdrawing from the championship prior to the opening round because of injury, Nurski has caddied for Parrish throughout the match-play portion of the championship and will continue that role during the 36-hole final.

The championship match is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. Sunday, with the winner earning the 119th Missouri Amateur Championship title and an exemption into the 2026 U.S. Amateur Championship.
