Champions Crowned at 13 & Under Junior Amateur Championship in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (July 17th, 2025) – The 13 & Under Junior Amateur Championship came to a close today at L.A. Nickell Golf Course, concluding two days of competitive stroke play. Champions were crowned in each division, highlighting the talent among Missouri’s rising junior golfers.

Blaine Munzlinger (Columbia) topped the leaderboard in the 12-13 boys’ division for the second consecutive day. Munzlinger parred the eighteenth hole to seal the first place title. Munzlinger finished Day 2 at 5-over 75 with a total score of 4-over 144. Judge Farzan (Jackson) followed closely behind, carding an even-par 70 during today’s round to finish 5-over 145. Derrick Douglass (Moberly) placed third with a 3-over 73 for a total score of 7-over 147. Douglass’s round was highlighted by three birdies.

In the 12-13 girls’ division, Cassandra Breauchy (Arnold) claimed first as the division’s sole competitor. Breauchy finished 90-over 195 after twenty-seven holes with a 30-over 65 during today’s nine-hole round. 

Rexton Vandegriff (Belle) won the 9-11 boys’ division with the lowest round of the day, 1-under 69 for a total score of 5-over 145. Vandegriff’s round featured five birdies leading him to a 7-stroke improvement from Day 1. Henry Russell (Fulton) carded an 8-over 78 during today’s round to finish 15-over 155. Andrew Moss (Sedalia) finished third with a 15-over 85 during Day 2 to end 25-over 165.

The 9-11 girls’ division saw Emma Patterson (Columbia) top the podium with a 27-over 62 during Day 2 to contribute to her total score of 66-over 171. Hatley Evers (Eldon) placed second with a 28-over 63 during today’s nine-hole match. Evers finished the tournament with an 84-over 189.

The following divisions played nine holes of stroke play:

As the sole competitor in the 6-8 boys’ division, Gannon Grigery (Ashland) took home the gold medal with a 22-over 92. Grigery finished Day 1 at 10-over 45 and Day 2 at 12-over 47.

Emmerson Munzlinger (Columbia) claimed first in the 6-8 girls’ division with a 6-over 41 during both days of the tournament. Munzlinger’s Day 2 round was highlighted by two birdies and two pars. Allison Knaebel (Columbia) finished second with a total score of 32-over 102. Knaebel improved her scores during Day 2 finishing six strokes ahead of her Day 1 score.
