JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (Oct. 9, 2023) – The Missouri Golf Association held its annual Pink Ribbon Two Lady Scramble today at Jefferson City Country Club. A total of 19 pairs of female golfers competed today and raised money for charity.
This was an 18 hole two lady scramble competition, with teams paired according to handicap index. All proceeds from the event went to a breast cancer awareness program.
Play began with a shotgun start at noon.
We saw some close competition among the group, with many teams ending tied with others.
Two teams shot par, 72, and tied for first place: the pairs of Janis Clemens (Sedalia) & Susan Van Horn (Sedalia) and Kathy Beykirch (Sedalia) & Becky Haulotte (Sedalia).
We saw another tie among three teams for third place. Deidre Parkinson (Columbia) & Debra Sawyer (Jefferson City), Tammy Thomas (Carl Junction) & Teri Carlson (Joplin) and Josette Berry (Lake Ozark) & Beth Halsell (Lake Ozark) all shot two over, 74.
And we had another three way tie for sixth place, each of the following teams shooting six over, 78: Sally Rackers (Jefferson City) & Carolyn Schroeder (Jefferson City), Kimi Rother (Columbia) & Christine Tran (Columbia) and Pam Knoll (Westphalia) & Janice Thielemier (Jefferson City).
And the close competition continued even further, with three teams following right behind tied for ninth place at eight over, 80.
