WASHINGTON, Mo. (July 8, 2026) – Cole Packingham of Lake Saint Louis and Alexi Omillian of Kansas City will take narrow leads into Thursday’s final round after the completion of the second round of the 42nd Annual Missouri Junior Amateur Championship at Franklin County Country Club.

Players battled another hot day under clear skies as temperatures climbed into the low 90s, setting the stage for an important day of championship golf as competitors looked to secure a place in the final round.

Packingham climbed from a tie for fourth into the outright lead in the boys championship after firing a 3-under-par 68. His round featured three birdies and an eagle on the par-5 10th hole, giving him a 36-hole total of 4-under-par 138 and a one-shot advantage entering Thursday’s championship round.

Parker Andersen of Wentzville sits alone in second at 3-under-par 139, while first-round leader Hudson Shy of Saint Charles is third at 1-under-par 141. Hayes McIntosh of Lee’s Summit is fourth at even-par 142, while Houston Tiefenbrunn of Washington and Chase Segal of Chesterfield are tied for fifth at 1-over-par 143.

The lowest round of the day belonged to Charlie Homsey of Overland Park, who carded a bogey-free 4-under-par 67 highlighted by four birdies to move into a tie for 11th place heading into the final round.

In the girls championship, Omillian maintained her overnight lead with a second-round 74 to remain atop the leaderboard at 2-over-par 144. Her round included birdies on the ninth and 16th holes, helping her preserve a one-shot advantage entering the championship round.

Addie Swan of Lee’s Summit remains within striking distance in second at 3-over-par 145, while Julia Schlitt of Jackson sits third at 5-over-par 147. Defending champion Betsy Mitchell of Kansas City improved with a second-round 73 to move into fourth at 7-over-par 149, while Haven Evers of Eldon rounds out the top five at 12-over-par 154.

At the conclusion of Wednesday’s play, the championship field was reduced to the top 40 percent of competitors in each division. A total of 46 boys advanced after the cut fell at 14-over-par, while 16 girls earned spots in Thursday’s final round after the cut was established at 24-over-par.
