KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May 19, 2025) – The opening round of the 37th annual Senior Four Ball Championship took place today at Oakwood Country Club, where more than 60 teams are competing across five divisions.
In the Championship Division, Kris Casburn (Greenwood) & Brett Harms (Higginsville) hold the first-round lead after shooting 4-under 68. The duo tallied seven birdies on the day to grab a one-stroke advantage heading into Tuesday’s final round.
Sean McQueary (Springfield) & David Pfeil (Eureka) sit in second place after posting a 3-under 69, highlighted by four birdies. Two teams are tied for third at 2-under 70: Steve Ball (Columbia) & Jody Martin (Columbia), and Travis Mitchell (Springfield) & Antonio Serrano (Springfield).
In the Championship 65+ Division, Jim Kinney (Overland Park) & David Hamilton (Olathe) top the leaderboard after a strong opening round of 3-under 69. The pair carded five birdies to take a two-stroke lead. Two teams are tied for second after rounds of 1-under 71: Patrick Warren (Kansas City) & Dave Hornaday (Kansas City), and defending champions Mark Addington (Overland Park) & Steve Groom (Raytown).
In the Net 50–59 Division, three teams are tied for the lead at 3-under 69: Trent Ackerman (Smithville) & Carl Fulkerson (Trimble), Eric Austin (Raymore) & Mike Domenick (Festus), and Thomas Blumer (Lee’s Summit) & John Moore (Mission Hills).
Tony Guy (Kansas City) & Emmett Thompson II (Lee’s Summit) lead the Net 60–69 Division after firing a 5-under 67. They are one shot ahead of Steve McKinzie & Stevan Moran (Raymore) and Roger Fender & Bruce Rehmer (Lee’s Summit), who each shot 4-under 68.
In the Net 70+ Division, Kenneth Nicklas & Trent Porter (Jefferson City) finished with a 6-under 66 to claim the top spot on the leaderboard heading into Day 2.
The final round of the Senior Four Ball Championship continues tomorrow with another 18 holes of four ball competition.
