Amateur & Mid Amateur Leaderboard GGID# UYMKVD

JEFFERSON CITY — The Missouri Golf Association is set to run the 91st Missouri Women’s Amateur & Mid-Amateur Championship at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg July 6-8.

Mules National Golf Club, formerly known as Keth Memorial Golf Course, plays host to the Central Missouri Mules and Jennies. The course went through a multi-million dollar renovation and reopened to the public in 2015.

The Women’s Amateur & Mid-Amateur returns to western Missouri for the first time since 2018, when the tournament was played at St. Joseph Country Club.

The 2021 edition of the tournament will feature a number of former champions, including nine-time champion Ellen Port. Port last won the Amateur in 2014. Also in the field are Michelle Butler Parrish and Abby Glynn, who won in 2019 and 2020, respectively.

Glynn, who plays collegiately at Kansas, became the youngest player to win the tournament since 2015 at just 20 years old last summer. She will be competing against a field that sports 25 teenagers, with two entries as young as 15 years old.

The 11th Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship will also be held concurrently with the Amateur. A number of players will be competing in both tournaments, including Parrish, who will be in the championship division of the Mid-Amateur.

To qualify for the Mid-Amateur, the player must be over 25 years old. If she has a handicap over 8, she may choose to play in the Open division of the Amateur and Mid-Amateur, which sit at different yardages than the Championship division.
