4th Annual Pink Ribbon Two Lady Scramble Raises $1,400 for Breast Cancer Research

October 14, 2024

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (October 14, 2024) – Jefferson City Country Club hosted the 4th Annual Pink Ribbon Two Lady Scramble today. The event brought together female golfers from across Missouri for a day of camaraderie, competition, and philanthropy, with all proceeds going toward breast cancer research. With a shotgun start at 12:00 p.m., participants competed in an 18-hole scramble format.

The team of Robyn Rossi (Hollister) & Stephany Powell (Springfield) took home the top spot, finishing with an impressive score of 3-under-par, 69.

Close behind, the team of Anne Heitkamp & Jessica Schepker, both from Columbia, secured second place with a score of 1-under-par, 71.

In third place, the team of Janis Clemens & Sherry Kempton, both from Sedalia, finished at 1-over-par, 73. Notably, Clemens was part of one of the teams that tied for first place in last year’s scramble.

In addition to the competitive spirit, the event successfully raised $1,400 for breast cancer research, with gift certificates to the Jefferson City Country Club pro shop awarded to the top finishers.

Participants gathered after the round for a player reception and awards ceremony, celebrating both the winners and the charitable impact of the event.

The Missouri Golf Association extends its gratitude to all participants and supporters who made this event a success, and looks forward to continuing the Pink Ribbon Two Lady Scramble tradition in the future.

Four years later, the invite-only Missouri Amateur was held in Kansas City at Evanston Club. 1911 marked the real organization of the MGA with Bonner Miller as Secretary and Executive Director. Ever since then, the MGA has striven to provide tournaments and spaces for Missouri golfers to sharpen their skills and enjoy the game.
