WASHINGTON, Mo. (July 6, 2026) – Missouri Golf’s premier junior championship returns this week as 149 of the state’s top young golfers prepare to compete in the 42nd Annual Missouri Junior Amateur Championship, July 7-9, at Franklin County Country Club.
The three-day championship will feature 110 boys and 39 girls competing in separate divisions over 54 holes of stroke play on the par-71 layout. Following Wednesday’s second round, the field will be reduced for Thursday’s final round as players battle for Missouri Junior Amateur titles.
Play will begin each morning at 7:30 a.m., with competitors teeing off from both the No. 1 and No. 10 tees.
The championship field features 13 returning top-10 finishers from the 2025 Missouri Junior Amateur Championships, headlined by defending girls champion Betsy Mitchell of Kansas City (Staley High School). Mitchell returns looking to successfully defend her title after also finishing as runner-up at this year’s Missouri Junior Match Play Championship.
The boys’ field is equally competitive, led by returning fourth-place finisher Cole Packingham and reigning Missouri Junior Match Play champion Landon Barks. Junior Match Play semifinalist Hudson Shy also enters the championship after an impressive run at this year’s match play event.
The girls’ championship will feature another familiar face in Addie Swan of Lee’s Summit (Raymore-Peculiar High School), who advanced to the semifinals of the 2026 Missouri Junior Match Play Championship and will look to carry that momentum into stroke-play competition.
Franklin County Country Club will provide a demanding test throughout the week as competitors navigate the par-71 layout in pursuit of Missouri Golf’s premier junior championship. With a talented field of returning contenders and rising stars, both divisions are expected to provide three days of highly competitive golf.
