JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (April 23, 2026) – Missouri Golf is proud to announce that it will assume primary oversight of the Northwest Missouri Junior Tour beginning with the 2026 season.
The transition reflects Missouri Golf’s continued commitment to growing junior golf opportunities across the state while supporting established programs that are already making a strong impact in their communities.
While oversight will shift to Missouri Golf, the overall structure and experience of the Northwest Missouri Junior Tour will remain unchanged. Prior organizers Samson Holcomb and Jake Mikesch will continue to lead day-to-day operations and event management, ensuring continuity for players, families, and host facilities.

“Missouri Golf is excited to support the Northwest Missouri Junior Tour and the community it has built,” said Reese Hamilton, Director of Championships & Golf Operations. “We’re excited to work alongside Samson [Holcomb] and Jake [Mikesch], who have done a tremendous job with the tour, and look forward to continuing to grow and evolve it in the years ahead.”
The Northwest Missouri Junior Tour has become an important competitive outlet for young golfers in the region, and Missouri Golf’s involvement will focus on strengthening that foundation while expanding opportunities for participation and development.
“I started playing on the Northwest Missouri Junior Tour many years ago, and it gave me my first experience in competitive golf,” said Jake Mikesch. “The tour, which was started by Mike Habermehl, also helped me build relationships that I still have today. We’re excited to continue Mike’s vision and keep growing the tour for the next generation of players.”
The 2026 season will mark the beginning of this next chapter, with Missouri Golf working alongside tour leadership to support long-term growth while maintaining the consistency that players have come to expect.
