JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (August 24, 2025) – The Missouri Golf Association crowned its 2025 champions today at Jefferson City Country Club as the 31st Missouri Mid-Amateur Championship & JCCC Memorial concluded after two days of stroke play.

In the Mid-Amateur division, Kevin Kring (Springfield) captured the championship with a steady final-round 71, finishing at 7-under 137 for the tournament. Kring carded four birdies today to secure a three-shot margin of victory.

Three-time champion and defending titleholder Adam Pfeiffer (Quincy, Ill.) finished runner-up at 4-under 140, posting another 70 that featured four birdies and a flawless back nine.

The day also produced standout performances from Brad Carpenter (Washington) and Zach VanDolah (Kansas City), who both tied for third at 2-under 142. Carpenter fired the low round of the day with a 67, highlighted by six birdies and an eagle on the par-5 sixth hole. VanDolah closed with a solid 71, recording five birdies. 

Ryan Schuenke (Quincy, Ill.), last year’s runner-up, finished fifth at 1-under 143. These five players were the only competitors to finish under par for the tournament.

In the JCCC Memorial Senior Division, Brian Lovett (St. Louis) completed a wire-to-wire victory with back-to-back rounds of 69 for a total of 6-under 138. Lovett’s final day included four birdies and a clean back nine, with only one bogey on the card. 

Tim Holmes (Springfield) finished second at 1-over 145 after a steady round of 72, which featured two birdies and just one double bogey. 

Kirk Viehl (Edwardsville, Ill.) placed third at 2-over 146 following a final-round 77.

The JCCC Memorial Super Senior Division went to Tom Leonard (Leawood, Kan.), who closed with a 5-over 77 for a winning total of 12-over 156. Leonard punctuated his victory with a birdie on the 18th hole. 

Parker Morgan (Springfield) finished second at 14-over 158, followed by Mike O’Neil (St. Louis) in third at 15-over 159.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (August 23, 2025) – The opening round of the 31st Missouri Mid-Amateur Championship & JCCC Memorial teed off this morning at Jefferson City Country Club, with competitors battling for position ahead of tomorrow’s final round.

In the Mid-Amateur division, Kevin Kring (Springfield) set the pace with an impressive 6-under 66. Kring carded seven birdies against a single bogey to build a three-shot lead heading into the championship’s final day.

Sitting tied for second at 3-under 69 are Marck de Lautour (Lee’s Summit), Ryan Schuenke (Quincy) and Tom Buffington (St. Joseph). Schuenke, last year’s runner-up, remains in strong contention, while Buffington and de Lautour put themselves in the hunt with steady play.

Reigning champion Adam Pfeiffer (Quincy) kept himself in the mix with a 2-under 70, tied for fifth alongside Kory Franks (Lake Ozark), fresh off a victory at the Missouri Four Ball Championship. Pfeiffer notched four birdies and went bogey-free until No. 16, while Franks’ up-and-down round was highlighted by five birdies. 

Only nine players in the Mid-Amateur field managed to finish under par on the opening day.

In the JCCC Memorial Senior Division, Tom Barry (St. Louis), Brian Lovett (St. Louis), and Kirk Viehl (Edwardsville) are tied at the top with rounds of 3-under 69. Barry and Viehl each carded five birdies, while Lovett led the field with seven birdies on the day. 

Close behind, Brian Haskell (St. Joseph) sits in fourth at 2-under 70 after recording six birdies. Harry Roberts (St. Joseph) and Wayne Fredrick (Springfield) are tied for fifth at 1-under 71. 

In the JCCC Memorial Super Senior Division, Mike O’Neil (St. Louis) holds the lead with a 2-over 74, highlighted by four birdies on the back nine. 

Parker Morgan (Springfield) sits in second at 5-over 77, followed by Tom Leonard (Leawood, Kan.) in third at 7-over 79.

The final round of the 31st Missouri Mid-Amateur Championship & JCCC Memorial continues Sunday, with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Jefferson City Country Club. Champions will be crowned in the Mid-Amateur, Senior, and Super Senior divisions.
