FARMINGTON, Mo. (July 6, 2025) – The state’s top junior golfers are set to compete this week as the 2025 Missouri Junior Amateur Championship begins at Crown Pointe Golf Club in Farmington, July 7–9. The championship features 143 of the state’s best boys and girls ages 14–18, showcasing talent from across Missouri.

Crown Pointe Golf Club will host the Missouri Junior Amateur for the second year in a row. The layout features four par-3s, 10 par-4s and four par-5s. Boys will play at approximately 6,700 yards and girls at approximately 5,700 yards.

The championship will be contested over 54 holes of stroke play, with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. Monday and Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday. After 36 holes, a cut will be made based on a percentage of the field in each division. The top competitors will advance to Wednesday’s final round, where champions will be crowned in both the boys and girls divisions.

This year’s field includes a strong mix of returning standouts, collegiate commits and players with recent success in state and national competition. In the boys division, Columbia’s Anson Munzlinger highlights the field as the 2025 Junior Match Play champion and a semifinalist at this year’s Missouri Amateur. Also returning is Cole Packingham of Lake St. Louis, who finished runner-up to Munzlinger at the Junior Match Play Championship. Defending Junior Amateur champion Ian Lambert of Jackson is back to defend his title, and last year’s runners-up, Ben Christian of Dexter and Harper Ackermann of Webster Groves, will also be in the hunt.

The depth of the boys field is evident, with more than 10 players already committed to collegiate programs, including NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA schools. Programs represented include Pittsburg State University, University of Southern Indiana, University of Tennessee Martin, Missouri S&T, University of Central Missouri, Drury University, Evangel University, Hannibal-LaGrange University and Illinois Wesleyan University.

On the girls side, five competitors recently represented Missouri at the 2025 Junior Girls Four State Championship: KC Lenox of Saint Peters, Avery McLaughlin of Town and Country, Kate Ryan of Columbia, Morgan Withington of St. Louis, and Betsy Mitchell of Kansas City. Mitchell enters the event after finishing runner-up in the 2025 Junior Match Play Championship, while Withington and McLaughlin tied for second at last year’s Junior Amateur.

The girls division also includes several players committed to collegiate golf programs across all divisions. Ryan (Coastal Carolina), McLaughlin (University of Richmond) and Withington (Sacred Heart University) headline a group that also includes signees to Lindenwood, Missouri Western, Central Missouri, Pittsburg State, Columbia College and Rockhurst.
