COLUMBIA, Mo. (June 23, 2025) – The state’s best male amateur golfers will tee it up this week as the 118th Missouri Amateur Championship begins at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, June 24-29. The championship, conducted by the Missouri Golf Association, brings together an elite field featuring a mix of veteran mid‑amateurs, rising college stars and junior standouts from across the state.
The Club at Old Hawthorne, the home course of the University of Missouri, will host the Missouri Amateur Championship for the first time. The par-72 layout has a long-standing reputation for challenging the best players, serving as the venue for numerous MGA, AJGA and collegiate championships.
This year’s field of 150 includes four‑time champion Brad Nurski (2024, 2018, 2017, 2010), along with past winners Chad Niezing (2022), Sam Migdal (2016) and Wayne Fredrick (1996). They will be joined by recent runners‑up Presten Richardson (2024), Michael Winslow (2023) and Hunter Parrish (2016), who are seeking their first state amateur title.
The field also shines a spotlight on junior phenom Anson Munzlinger of Columbia. At just 15 years old, Munzlinger recently claimed the 2025 MGA Junior Match Play Championship and will compete on his home course, where he is also the reigning Club Champion.
Several Mizzou golfers will also compete, making this year’s championship a true home‑game showcase for the Tigers: Virgilio Paz (senior), Brock Snyder (junior) and Veikka Viskari (junior).
The 118th Missouri Amateur Championship welcomes 150 participants from across the state and beyond, including 35% who currently play college golf, highlighting the growing strength and depth of junior and collegiate talent in Missouri.
