The Missouri Golf Association is excited to welcome eight interns who will assist in organizing and executing our summer tournaments this year! The intern program here at the MGA continues to grow, and this is our largest class ever. We couldn’t run our events over the summer without the help of our amazing interns, so keep an eye out for them on the course this season!

Let’s meet the eight students joining the MGA staff.

Josh Bradley

Josh is a student at Mizzou where he is studying Parks, Recreation, Sport and Tourism Management, with an expected graduation in 2025. He is the JV Boys Basketball Coach at Christian Fellowship School in Columbia, and also is the coach of the Mid-MO Phenom 8th grade boys team out of Columbia. He has experience with turf management, and currently serves as an Athletics Student Worker for the University of Missouri Turf Crew, where he maintains Mizzou Athletics fields and surrounding facilities.

Ella Fixsen

Ella is back for her second summer as our Communications Intern! She will continue her work with social media, marketing, public relations and more during her time with the MGA. She is from De Soto, Kansas, and is a junior at Mizzou studying Journalism. While at Mizzou, she is a Creative Video Intern with Mizzou Athletics and an Internal Strategist for Matchbook Marketing, a student-led marketing group. Finally, she serves as the Vice President & Treasurer for Mizzou’s chapter of the Association for Women in Sports Media.

Parker Gourley

Parker is from Jefferson City and currently attends Mizzou where he is studying Secondary Education with an emphasis in Social Studies. He also works for Jefferson City Parks and Rec as a Ball Park Supervisor. You may have seen him before at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield, where he currently works as a Golf Shop Attendant. 

Charlie Hinds

Charlie is also from Jefferson City and he attended Helias Catholic High School before graduating last May. He is currently attending the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio, and he is studying Civil Engineering. He is a member of the NCCGA Club Golf Team, the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Institute of Transportation Engineers. He is also a member of the University of Dayton Honors Program.

Taylor Hovis

This is Taylor’s second year as an operations intern at the MGA! Taylor grew up in Jefferson City and played golf at Capital City High School, and now attends Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS, where she is studying Elementary Education with a minor in Leadership. She is a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, where she serves as Vice President of Recruitment. At Kansas State, she has made the Dean’s List for two years in a row. 

Caroline McCurren

Caroline is originally from Jefferson City and attends William Woods University in Fulton where she is studying Business with a concentration in Marketing and Advertising. At school, she is a member of Chi Omega, where she is the Campus Activities Chair, the Open House Recruitment Chair and the Class Representative. She also has extensive volunteer experience, including with the Special Olympics, the YMCA and Iron Wing Ranch.

Dawson Meek

Dawson has a long history with the MGA and has competed in our events for several years. He played golf at Mizzou from 2020 to 2023, and he currently plays golf at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. At UNT, he studies Recreation Event and Sport Management. He is originally from Ozark and worked at Millwood Golf and Racquet Club in Springfield for two years as a Cart Barn Attendant. 

Matt Mueller

Matt is traveling the furthest to be a part of our 2024 intern class! He is originally from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and he attends Salem State University in Salem, Massachusetts. At Salem State, he studies Sport & Movement Science with a concentration in Sport Management. He played on the baseball team at Salem State and has extensive volunteer experience with baseball-related camps and programs.
