Final Recap

ELDON, Mo. (August 7, 2023) — The final round of the Missouri Junior Tour Championship took place today at Redfield Golf Course in Eugene, Mo. Throughout the summer, junior golfers have competed in MJT events leading up to the championship. 

The following flights played 18 Hole Stroke Play:

Winning the 16-18 Male Flight after shooting six over par for a total gross of 150 is Max Templeman (Carthage). Teagen Hull (Eldon) shot 8 over par, 152 during the two rounds to take home second place. Dylan Bryan (Jefferson City) placed third, carding 10 over par, 154. 

Sophie Hinds (Jefferson City) held the lead and won the 16-18 Female flight with a total gross score of 161, 17 over par. Audrey Duvall (Springfield) shot 18 over, 162, throughout the two days to bring home second. Avery Wells took third with a score of 19 over, 163. 

Hagan Ritter (Macon) shot 11 over par, 155 during the two-round championship to claim first place in the 14-15 Male flight. Grayson Moore (Jefferson City) was a close second at 12 over par, 156. Jordan Shivers (Jefferson City) shot a total of 13 over par, 157, to place third. 

Haven Evers (Eldon) shot 23 over par for 167  during the two rounds to win the 14-15 Female flight. Coming in second place is Madison Wolf (St. Peters), who shot a total gross of 188, 44 over. Lily Henley placed third with a score of 48 over, 192. 

Crue Michel (Sunrise Beach) won the 12-13 Male flight. He carded 28 over par, 172, for the two rounds. There was a tie for second between Ty Brandt (Jefferson City) and Hunter Hovis (Jefferson City) at 30 over, 174. Brandt won the chip off and placed second, while Hovis took third. 

The following flights played 9 Hole Stroke Play:

Winning the 12-13 Male flight is Graham Henley (Eldon). He shot one under par, 71, during the two rounds to win the flight by 13 shots. Coming in second at 12 over par, 84, is Jack Sinnett (Jefferson City). Grayson Atteberry (Jefferson City) placed third at 14 over, 86. 

Winning the 10-13 Female flight with a total gross score of 95, 23 over par, is Drew Maze (Columbia). Coming in second is McKenzie Martin (Jefferson City) at 26 over par, 98. Ashlyn Sears (Columbia) was behind her at 37 over par, 109, to bring home third place. 

Blaine Munzlinger (Columbia) shot four over par, 76, during the two rounds to win the 10-11 Male flight. Nine strokes behind him is Hunter Brown (Washington) with a score of 13 over, 85. Jagger Glaze (Eldon) took home third place in this division after shooting 18 over, 90. 

Placing first in the 8-9 Female flight is Emerson Munzlinger (Columbia). She shot 31 over par, 103, during the tournament to win the flight. Allison Knaebel (Columbia) placed second with a total gross of 124, 52 over par. Coming in third is Abigail Neeley (Wardsville) at 64 over par, for a total gross of 136 from the two rounds. 

Our only 8-9 Male junior golfer in this two-day championship was Logan Knabel. He shot nine over, 81, throughout the two days of play to place first in his division.

12-13 Male (9 Holes): Graham Henley, Eldon, Mo. 

10-13 Female: McKenzie Martin, Jefferson City, Mo. 

10-11 Male: Hunter Brown, Washington, Mo. 

8-9 Male: Henry Russell, Fulton, Mo. 

8-9 Female: Allison Knaebel, Columbia, Mo. & Abigail Neeley, Wardsville, Mo.

Day 1 Recap

ELDON, Mo. (August 6, 2023) — The first day of the 2023 Missouri Junior Tour Championship has been completed at Eldon Golf Club in Eldon, Mo. 58 junior golfers set out to play in the final MJT event of the 2023 season. 

After the first round of stroke play, the 10 flights have leaders going into the second and final round of the championship. 

The following flights played 18 Hole Stroke Play: 

Leading the 16-18 Male flight is Max Templeman (Carthage) at four over par, 76. Behind Templeman is Teagen Hull (Eldon) who sits at seven over par, 79, and five strokes behind the leader at nine over par, 81, is Britt Coy (Carthage). 

Sophie Hinds (Jefferson City) carded 11 over par, 83, to sit at the top of the 16-18 Female flight leaderboard going into round two. She is right in front of Avery Wells (Eldon) and Audrey Duvall (Springfield) tied for second at 12 over par, 84. 

Competition was tight in the 14-15 Male flight. Grayson Moore (Jefferson City) and Talon Hull (Eldon) both carded six over par, 78, to go into round two tied for the lead in their flight. Hagan Ritter (Macon) is only two shots behind them at eight over par, 80, and in third place.

Haven Evers (Eldon) shot seven over par, 79, to lead the 14-15 Female flight by 16 strokes going into the final round of the championship. Lily Henley (Eldon) sits at 23 over par, 95, for second and Madison Wolf (St. Peters) is in third at 26 over par, 98. 

Leading the 12-13 Male is Crue Michel (Sunrise Beach). He shot 15 over par, 87. Behind Michel is Hunter Hovis who carded 18 over par, 90, during round one. Ty Brandt (Jefferson City) is in third place going into the final round at 19 over par, 91.

The following flights played 9 Hole Stroke Play: 

Drew Maze (Columbia) shot 11 over par, 47, during the first round of the MJT Championship to lead the 10-13 Female flight. Shooting 16 over par, 52, is Lily Caudle (Holts Summit). McKenzie Martin (Jefferson City) shot 17 over par, 53, for third place going into the final round. 

Graham Henley (Eldon) has a strong lead in the 12-13 Male flight after the first round. Henley shot two under par, 34, during the first round. Jack Sinnett (Jefferson City) sits in second at four over, 40, and Grayson Atteberry (Jefferson City) is in third with a score of eight over, 44. 

Blaine Munzlinger (Columbia) is leading the 10-11 Male flight at two over par, 38. He is followed by Hunter Brown (Washington) who is four shots shy of him at six over par, 42. In third going into the final round at eight over par is Finn Hutchison (Mokane). 

Emerson Munzlinger leads the pack in the 8-9 Female flight at 14 over par, 50. In second is Allison Knaebel (Columbia), shooting 26 over par, 62. Abigail Neeley (Wardsville) is in third place heading into the second round. She shot 32 over par, 68, during round one. 

Logan Knaebel (Columbia) is the only golfer in our 8-9 Male flight. He shot seven over par, 43, during round one.

ABOUT MGA: The Missouri Golf Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the best interests and true spirit of the game of golf throughout the State of Missouri.

The Missouri Golf Association was started in St. Louis in 1905 to run the Amateur Championship. Four founding clubs would be the ones in existence in St. Louis in those early years – St. Louis Country Club, Algonquin Golf Club, Glen Echo Golf Club and Normandie Golf Club. Four years later, the invite-only Missouri Amateur was held in Kansas City at Evanston Club. 1911 marked the real organization of the MGA with Bonner Miller as Secretary and Executive Director. Ever since then, the MGA has striven to provide tournaments and spaces for Missouri golfers to sharpen their skills and enjoy the game.
