COLUMBIA, MO. (June 2, 2023) – Kanon Kendrick (Columbia) came out on top today at the CCMO qualifier at the Country Club of Missouri in Columbia. Kendrick finished with a score of 6 under par, 66. 

Anson Munzlinger (Columbia) had the second-lowest score of the day after shooting 3 under par, 69.

The top 17 players, plus two alternates, qualified for the 116th annual Missouri Amateur Championship, which will take place at Payne’s Valley Golf Course in Hollister on June 20-25. The cut to qualify was one over par, 73, with a playoff occurring to determine who would be the final player to make the cut. Seven players faced off for the final two slots. Kory Franks (Lake Ozark) and Bret Arms (Columbia were the 16th and 17th players to make the cut, with Sean Paul (Sedalia) taking the first alternate spot and Joseph Fallis (Columbia) taking the second.

The Missouri Golf Association was started in St. Louis in 1905 to run the Amateur Championship. Four founding clubs would be the ones in existence in St. Louis in those early years – St. Louis Country Club, Algonquin Golf Club, Glen Echo Golf Club and Normandie Golf Club.
