NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. – Today, Oct. 5, 2022, the final round of the Senior Series Tour Championship concluded at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield, Mo. This marks the end of the Senior Series Tour season, with nine golfers declared the winners of their division.

Play today began with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Competition was pretty close in the 50-54 Open flight! Sean McQueary (Springfield) and Brad Thielemier (Poplar Bluff) both finished with a gross score of four over, 148 after two rounds. McQueary shot 73 in round one and 75 in round two, and Thielemier shot 75 in round one and 73 in round two. Completing the top three for this division is Dan Kelley (Chesterfield), who finished at six over, 150 (71, 79).

David Pfeil (Eureka) maintained his round one lead to win the 55-59 Open flight at one over, 145 (70, 75). Following him is Robert Godwin (Poplar Bluff) in second place at nine over, 153 (79, 74), and John Shock (Poplar Bluff) in third with a score of 12 over, 160 (79, 77).

Steve Groom (Raytown) pulled out the win in the 60-64 Open flight with a score of six over, 150 (76, 74). Tim Rinker (West Plains) is next in line with a score of nine over, 153 (73, 80), and John Gafner (Springfield) finished in third place at 12 over, 156 (77, 79).

In the 65-69 Open flight, Dennis Osborne (Ballwin) was able to keep his first place position and secure the win with a score of five over, 149 (73, 76). Parker Morgan (Springfield) moved up a position to finish in second at eight over, 152 (75, 77), and Jim Beatson (Camdenton) took home third at nine over, 153 (75, 78).

Don Kuehn (Kansas City) had two consistently great rounds to win the 70+ Open flight with a total score of five under, 139 (69, 70). Robert Trittler (Wentzville) followed in second at one under, 143 (68, 75), and Ron Eilers (Columbia) came in third after shooting 14 over, 158 (74, 84).

Tim Borman (Kingdom City) won a close competition in the 50-59 Net division to finish in first at one under, 143 (70, 73). Closely behind him is Steven Cameron (Miller) who shot par, 144 (70, 74). And right on their heels was Mike Domenick (Festus), who finished with a score of 2 over, 146 (71, 75).

In the 60-64 Net flight, James Hickman (Fulton) came in first with a score of two under, 142 (73, 69). George Barkho (Fulton) followed in second at even par, 144 (72, 72), and Dave Pingel (Hartsburg) took third place with a score of two over, 146 (71, 75).

Dana Elwell (Nixa) came back from third place in round one to win the 65-69 Net division with a total score of four over, 148 (74, 74). Harold Dishman (Strafford) took second place at six over, 150 (70, 80). Stephen Maier (Jefferson City) came in third place after shooting eight over, 152 (72, 80).

Finally, the 70+ Net flight was won by Gerald Oney (Walnut Shade) with a score of one over, 145 (74, 71). Charles Kaiser (Jefferson City) was right behind him at two over, 146 (71, 75), and Terry Souchek (Columbia) took home third place at three over, 147 (73, 74).

NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. – Today, Oct. 4, 2022, the first round of the Senior Series Tour Championship was held at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield, Mo. In total, 79 golfers teed off this afternoon to compete for the championship title.

The Senior Series Tour was started by the MGA in 2006 to provide male amateur golfers over the age of 50 to compete in events across the State. The players accumulate points throughout the season to qualify for this event, the Tour Championship, and the Ozark Cup Matches against Kansas Senior Series Tour Teams.

Play began today with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The field was divided by age division, including a separate Net group.

In the 50-54 Open flight, Dan Kelley (Chesterfield) is leading the pack at one under, 71. Right behind him in second is Sean McQueary (Springfield) with a score of one over, 73, and Tony Nolfo (Festus) in third at two over, 74.

David Pfeil (Eureka) is leading the 55-59 Open flight at two under, 70. Two golfers are tied for second place at seven over, 79: Robert Godwin (Poplar Bluff) and John Shock (Poplar Bluff). 

Tim Rinker (West Plains) is on top of the 60-64 Open flight with a score of one over, 73, with Steve Groom (Raytown) following at 4 over, 76. John Gafner (Springfield) and Jeff Spies (Ozark) are tied for third place with a score of 6 over, 78.

In the 65-69 Open division, Dennis Osborne (Ballwin) is in first place at one over, 73. In second is Jim Beatson (Camdenton) at two over, 74, and Parker Morgan (Springfield) is in third after shooting three over, 75.

Robert Trittler (Wentzville) is winning the 70+ Open flight so far after shooting an impressive four under, 68 in the first round. Don Kuehn (Kansas City) is close behind at three under, 69. Finally, Ron Eilers (Columbia) is in third at two over, 74.

Two players are tied for first place in the 50-59 Net flight after the first round at two under, 70: Tim Borman (Kingdom City) and Steven Cameron (Miller). And Mike Domenick (Festus) rounds out the top three in third at one under, 71.

Dave Pingel (Hartsburg) is leading the 60-64 Net flight at one under, 71, with George Barkho (Fulton) right behind at even par, and James Hickman (Fulton) next in line at one over, 73. 

Harold Dishman (Strafford) leads the pack in the 65-69 Net flight at two under, 70. Stephen Meier (Jefferson City) is in second place after shooting par. And finally, Dana Elwell (Nixa) and Hugh McKay (Jefferson City) are tied for third place at two over, 74.

And lastly, the 70+ Net flight is being led by Charles Kaiser (Jefferson City) with a score of one under, 71. Terry Souchek (Columbia) is on his heels at one over, 73, and Gerald Oney (Walnut Shade) is in third place at two over, 74.
