WARRENSBURG — Michelle Parrish (Columbia) set a new Mules National Golf Club course record Wednesday, firing off a 7-under 63 during the second round of the Missouri Women’s Amateur & Mid-Amateur Championships.

Parrish, who played collegiately at Mizzou and now coaches golf at Columbia College, concluded her bogey-free round with her seventh birdie of the day on the 18th. The 2019 Amateur & Mid-Amateur champion sits in the driver’s seat for both tournaments at 7-under after two rounds.

Two strokes behind the leader, Sarah Bell (Jackson) played to an even-70 round and remained stagnant on the leaderboard at 5-under. Bell rallied on the back nine with three birdies to erase a bogey and a double bogey on the front.

Jess Meek (Columbia) also had a round to remember, heading into the clubhouse at 1-over after dunking an ace on the 18th. The hole-in-one helped to erase a double bogey two holes prior. Meek will head into the final round at 1-over for the tournament in fifth place.

Abby Glynn (Topeka, Kan.) and Hanna Hawks (Wellington, Kan.), who play collegiately at Kansas, sit third and fourth, respectively, on the leaderboard after two rounds. Glynn tucked down into red figures after shooting a 2-under 68 to head into Thursday at 1-under.
