SMITHVILLE — Round 1 of the 2021 Missouri Junior Amateur Championship was played Tuesday at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville.
 
At the top of the leaderboard on the boy’s side, Dylan Comstock (Orrick) fired off a 7-under 65. He punctuated the stellar performance with an eagle at 18 to push his cushion to four strokes. Jeffrey Johnston (St. Joseph) also finished in red figures with a 3-under 69.
 
On the girl’s side, Kaydi Rhodes (Jackson) leads the 16-18 division with a 6-over 78 in the first round. She also put a birdie under her belt at the 16th. She holds a one shot lead going into the final round of the tournament Wednesday.
 
In the boy’s 14-15 division, Jonathan Jordan (Rolla) holds a one shot lead after carding an even 72 during the first round. Joining him at the top of their respective leaderboards are Anson Munzlinger (Columbia, Boys 12-13), Isaac Herbert (Grain Valley, Boys 10-11) and Blaine Munzlinger (Columbia, Boys 8-9).
 
Also at the top of the respective leaderboards on the girls side are Bailey Burkett (Kansas City, Girls 14-15) and Grace Tiedmann (Rogersville, Girls 12-13).
