2015 Missouri Junior Amateur Recap

The 2015 Missouri Junior Amateur was held at Paradise Pointe Golf Course in Smithville, MO July 6-7. The Missouri Golf Association had 177 juniors ages 12-18 come out to play in this event. The morning waves of the first round of the Junior Am finished just in time before a big storm cell hit Smithville late Monday afternoon. However, the afternoon waves barely got 9 holes in. In the scorecard playoff, Dawson had a lower back nine and took second with Gabriel coming in 3rd. In the Boys 14-15 Divison, Jeff Simmons took 1st with a 74. Tommy Alferman placed 2nd with a 75. There was a three-way tie for 3rd between Kevin Wahle, Ross Steelman, and Jaden Hightower and Kevin won the scorecard playoff. In the Boys 16-18 Division, Tanner Elder, Jefferson City Blair Oaks class 2 state champ was the medalist and overall champion shooting 3 under with a 69. Frankie Thomas and Worth Blackman both came in 1 stroke behind and Worth won the scorecard playoff taking second. Frankie Thomas took third place.
