GLOBAL GOLF POST Announces Global All-Amateur Teams

WINTER PARK, FLORIDA (December 1, 2014) – Global Golf Post, the world’s first digital-only golf news publication, has named Global All-Amateur Teams, recognizing on-course amateur excellence around the world. A total of 211 men and women from around 23 different countries were recognized at the amateur, mid-amateur, and senior amateur levels.

As a part of the multi-page feature in the December 1 issue, The Post named Ohio amateur Alan Fadel and Stanford University Mariah Stackhouse as its Amateurs of the Year in America.

“Alan and Mariah are tremendous choices for these awards” commented Jim Nugent, Founder and Publisher of Global Golf Post. “They exemplify all that is important in the global amateur game today, on and off the course.”

Fadel, 60, won the Ohio Mid-Amateur championship for the third time this summer and qualified for both the U.S. Mid Amateur and the U.S. Senior Amateur. More importantly, he was the driving force behind the creation of the Concession Cup, which was played for the first time at the Concession Golf Club in Florida last spring. He was inducted into the Ohio Golf Hall of Fame this year.

Stackhouse, 20, was the first African American ever named to the U.S. Curtis Cup team, and she led that team to victory in June at St. Louis Country Club in Missouri. Ranked No. 46 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, Stackhouse was a first team All-American selection for the 2013-14 college season.
