Congratulations to Mikala Jungmeyer, 16, Russellville and Ian Barnes, 18, Licking for their accomplishments this season!!

Mikala Jungmeyer, Russellville, MO

Mikala is a Junior at Russellville High School.  Over the years she has competed in many MGA Junior Events.  To earn this honor Mikala received points based on how she finished in MGA Junior events in 2014.

She competed in 7 Hieronymus Junior Series Tour events where she finished first at Hail Ridge GC, Dogwood Hills CC, and Tanglewood GC, second at AL Gustin GC, fourth in Sedalia CC, and firth at Redfield GC fifth in the Tour Championship at Meadow Lake Acres CC.  She finished the year by making it to the round of 16 in the Junior Match Play at Columbia CC when she lost 2 down to Bailey Yost.

Mikala also qualified and was invited to play in the 3rd annual Southern States Junior Cup Matches.  The matches are played at the end of each season against the best junior players in Arkansas, Mississippi and Oklahoma.

Mikalya’s 2014 play in the SSJC matches at Dalhousie:

She and Jack Litzelfelner won their Four Ball Match against Arkansas 6 & 4. She teamed up with Matt Echelmeir for the Foursome Match against Mississippi score – all square. Mikala lost to Arkansas in her singles match 6 & 4.

Mikala loves the game and plays when she can. You can see her volunteering at the Golf for Kids Day at Turkey Creek or playing in a 9 hole scramble event in Eldon.  She also competes in Missouri Women GA events, LOJGA events and Metropolitan events.  But the highlight of her golf career by far has to be the opportunity to represent the USA in the Down Under International Games in Australia this past summer.  More…
