Ozark Cup Matches Missouri vs Kansas

The Ozark Cup Challenge (50-64) and Association Cup Matches (65 and over) are goodwill competitions currently played between teams from the Kansas and Missouri Golf Associations.  Players for each team qualified for these competitions through each associations respective Senior Series programs.  Opponents prior to the Missouri Golf Association included the Arkansas Golf Association and Kansas City Golf Association.

The Ryder Cup style format is match play consisting of foursome, four-ball and singles matches.

Qualifying

The top six (6) gross, top four (4) net contestants and two (2) captain’s pick from the points list after the MGA Senior Series Championship will be named to the Missouri Senior Team for the Ozark Cup Challenge.  Only those members participating in the MGA Senior Series Championship will be named to the Missouri Ozark Cup Team. (age 50-64)

The top three (3) gross, top two (2) net contestants and one (1) captain’s pick who are at least 65 years of age from the field of the MGA Senior Series Championship will be named to the Missouri Association Cup Team. (age 65 and over)

Pairings/Results

The Senior Series Tour Championship will be held on October 2-3 at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club, New Bloomfield

Players accumulate points during the season to qualify to compete in the Senior Series Tour Championship. The player must have (turned in a score card) played in at least 4 Senior Series events through the season. The top percentage of players are asked to compete in the final Championship.

Based on those results and points accumulated the top individuals are eligible to compete in the Ozark Cup Matches against the Kansas Senior Series Team.

ABOUT

The Senior Series Tour was started by the MGA in 2006 to provide male amateur golfers over the age of 50 to compete in events across the State. Each one day event is based on the players age and flight (Net or Gross) All Net flight players must have a current GHIN Handicap Index. The value of the prize pool (gift certificates) at each tournament is established prior to the tournament and is based on participation.  The players accumulate points throughout the season to qualify for the Tour Championship and the Ozark Cup Matches against Kansas Senior Series Tour Teams.
