MISSOURI TEAM

Allison Bray:

Graduation Year: 2018

High school: Notre Dame High School

Allison will be attending Missouri State University in the fall to play golf. She is a two-time Missouri Jr Amateur Champion and was Low Junior in Missouri Amateur, a Big I Qualifier, She is a four-time All District player and four-time All-State player. Allison has also helped Notre Dame High School earn back-to-Back Team High School State Championships. She also holds her school 18-hole record with a 64.

This is Allison’s second time playing in the Southern States Junior Cup Matches.

 

Samantha Cornelius:

Graduation Year: 2019

High School: Penney High School

Samantha is a two-time MGA Player of the Year recipient, a three-year district champion, and a three-year sectional runner up. She has qualified for state all three of her years and was All-State two years. She has received the St. Joseph News Press Player of the Year three times. Sam been a member of the Girls Four State Team for two years. She has competed in all MGA junior events this season. This will be Samantha’s third year participating on the Missouri Southern Junior Cup Team.

 

Madeline Larouere:

Graduation Year: 2018

High school: Liberty high school

Madeline will be attending Mckendree University on an athletic and academic scholarship in the fall.

She finished 8th in state junior year and 9th her senior year. Madeline played in the U.S Junior Girls Championship in 2016, where she came in second in the qualifying round with a score of 77. This year, Madeline won the MGA Jr Match Play Championship and made it to the Quarter Finals in the Western Women’s Tournament. This will be her first year at the Southern States Junior Cup Matches.

 

Taryn Overstreet:

Graduation Year: 2020

High School: Jackson High School

Taryn has qualified for state both years, finishing 6th and 5th. This season Taryn successfully finished 6th in the 2018 Junior Amateur Championship and was a member of the 2018 Four State Championship Team. This will be Taryn’s Second year competing in the Southern States Junior Cup Matches.

 

Olivia Sowers:

Graduation Year: 2019

High School: Rock Bridge Senior High School

This summer Olivia participated in the Pepsi Little Peoples, the Junior Amateur, The Women’s Amateur, The Junior Match Play, and was a member of the 2018 Junior Four State Team. At the 2018 Junior Amateur Olivia successfully finished in 3rd place shooting 73/75. This will be Olivia’s second year playing in the Southern States Junior Cup Matches.

 

Amber Wilson:

Graduation Year: 2018

High School: Camdenton High School

Amber will be attending The University of Missouri St. Louis on an athletic scholarship to play golf. She was our 2018 Junior Amateur Champion. She has been a member of the Missouri Four State Team for four years. She is three-year All-State golfer and three times district champion along with being a MSHAA State Runner Up. This summer she successfully should 62 with a hole-in-one at a Missouri Junior Tour event. This will be Amber’s fourth year participating in the Southern States Junior Cup Matches.

 

Tanner Collins:

Graduation Year: 2019

High School: Liberty North High School

Tanner is a three-time state qualifier and has gained both All District and All Conference honors three times, while achieving All State honors once. Tanner placed 6th in the Missouri Junior Amateur, 16th at the AJGA Buffalo Dune, and has three KCGA victories. This will be Tanner’s first year participating in the Southern States Junior Cup Matches.

 

Brooks Jungbluth:

Graduation Year: 2018

High School: Bishop Leblond

Brooks he will be attending Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on an athletic scholarship to play golf. Brooks qualified for the State tournament all four years of high school. He was also a member of the Class 2 Team State Champions and was the Individual State Champion in 2018 shooting 71-66 to set a MSHAA record. He was also the 2018 Missouri Amateur Championship Runner up, and the 2018 Missouri Junior Amateur Runner Up with scores of 68-69. Brooks also won the 2018 MSHSAA Class II Soccer State Championship with First Team All-State Honors. This will be Brooks first year participating the Southern States Junior Cup Matches.

 

Conner Obert:

Graduation Year: 2020

High School: Glendale High School

Conner has been all conference, all district, and all section both his freshman and sophomore year of high school. He also helped his team to a second-place finish at the State Championship his freshman year. He made it to the quarter final round in the 2018 Junior Match Play and was 2018 Amateur qualifier. Conner is also the Junior City Champion. This will be Conner’s second year participating in the Southern States Junior Cup Matches.

 

Lane Plunkett:

Graduation Year: 2019

High School: Helias Catholic High School

In 2018, Lane earned All District honors and helped his team take first place at districts and sectionals and second place for State. This summer, Lane made it to the Quarter Final round in the 2018 MGA Junior Match Play and has played in multiple MGA junior tournaments. This will be Lane’s first year participating in the Southern States Junior Cup Matches.

 

Jack Rundle:

Graduation Year: 2018

High school: Helias Catholic High School

Jack will be attending the University of Notre Dame on an academic scholarship in the fall to study computer science. He earned All-State honors this year and helped his team to a second-place finish. Jack was the leading scorer for Helias Catholic’s golf team all 4 years he played. This summer, he made it to the Quarter Final Round of the Junior Match Play Championship and the Round of 32 in the Missouri Amateur Championship and finished 3rd in the Missouri Junior Amateur. Jack was also named the Capital City Area Golfer of the Year. This will be Jack’s second year competing in the Southern States Junior Cup Matches.

 

Jett Simmons:

Graduation Year: 2018

High School: Gallatin High School

Jett will be attending Missouri Western State University in the fall to play golf. Jett was a state qualifier all four years of high school placing 5th, 4th twice, and was a 1st place State Champion his senior year. He also gained all conference, all district, all conference academic, and All State honors all four years of high school. Jett was the runner up for the 2018 Missouri Junior Match Play, 5th place in the Missouri Junior Amateur, and 3rd place in Pepsi Little Peoples. This will be Jett’s first year participating in the Southern States Junior Cup Matches.

Missouri is the 2018 hosts State

The players representing Missouri will compete against Mississippi, Arkansas and Alabama in the Junior Cup Team Matches. The matches rotate each year between the 4 states.

The teams will be comprised of 6 male and 6 female players from each state that meet the criteria established by each state association. The format of the tournament will be a four ball match played the first round, and the afternoon round will be an alternate shot match play and the third round will be singles match play. In four ball matches and alternate shot matches, the teams will consist of one (1) male and one (1) female on each team. The individual matches will be played male against male and female against female.
