Missouri Junior Amateur Championship

Meadow Lake Acres Country Club, New Bloomfield, Mo.

The final day of the 2018 Missouri Junior Amateur Championship was today at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield, Mo. Similar to round one, there was a morning wave with tee times starting at 7:30am, then an afternoon wave with tee times beginning at 12:00pm. Players had to face yet another day of high temperatures, but overall, scores were good. Each player put up a good fight!

Our younger males had another very impressive day! In the male 8-9 division, our overall winner was, Anson Munzlinger with an outstanding two-day score of (31-32-63) from Columbia, Mo. Coming in second place was Ty Brandt with a two-day score of (36-37-73) from Jefferson City, Mo. Our third-place winner was Bryan Carden with a two-day score of (46-43-89) from Jefferson City, Mo. For our male 10-11 division, our overall winner was Will Kimes with a great two-day score of (43-40-83) from Columbia, Mo. In second place was Dawson Schnieders with a two-day score of (44-43-87) from Jefferson City, Mo., and finally, our third place winner was Marco Boccardi with a two day score of (45-44-89) from Fenton, Mo. Lastly, for our male 12-13 division, our overall winner was, Quinn Thomas with an outstanding two-day score of (73-73-146) from Hannibal, Mo. Coming in second place was Archer Schnieders with a two day score of (72-79-151) from Jefferson City, Mo., and finally, our third place winner was Patrick Johnston with a two day score of (73-79-152) from St. Joseph, Mo.

The women’s divisions put up a good fight today and powered through the heat! For our female 14-15 division, our overall winner was Audrey Rischer with a wonderful two-day score of (81-75-156), coming in second place was Kassidy Hull with a two-day score of (77-80-157). Lastly, coming in third place, was Ella Overstreet with a two-day score of (87-78-165) from Jackson, Mo. Lastly for our female 16-18 division, our overall winner was Amber Wilson with a striking two-day score of (68-74-142) from Camdenton, Mo., coming in second place was Claire Solovic with a two-day score of (77-69-146) from Imperial, Mo., and coming in third place was Olivia Sowers with a two-day score of (73-75-148) from Columbia, Mo.

The men experienced the prime afternoon heat but stuck through it and played great golf! For our male 14-15 division, our overall winner was Jeffrey Johnston with an even two-day score of (70-74-144) from St. Joseph, Mo., coming in second place was Carsen Silliman with a two-day score of (73-73-146) from Jackson, Mo. and lastly, coming in third place, was a three-way tie between Drew Higgins with a two-day score of (75-77-152) from Jefferson City, Mo., Ben Slicker with a two-day score of (81-71-152) from Leawood, KS. and Braden Hoisington with a two-day score of (75-77-152) from Dardenne Praire, Mo. For our male 16-18 division, our overall winner was Hank Lierz with an impressive two-day score of (68-68-136) from St. Joseph, Mo., coming in second place was Brooks Jungbluth with a two-day score of (68-69-137) from St. Joseph, Mo. and coming in third was Jack Rundle with a two-day score of (70-69-139) from Jefferson City, Mo.

The 2018 Missouri Junior Amateur Championship kicked off today in New Bloomfield, Mo. At Meadow Lake Acres Country Club.  The Missouri Golf Association had 140 juniors play in the event. The day consisted of a morning wave and afternoon, beginning the day with tee times starting at 7:30am, and an afternoon wave starting at noon. The junior golfers faced the heat today with temperatures in the 90s. All juniors worked hard and played their best!

Our younger males had a very impressive day! In the male 8-9 division, the top three leaders include Anson Munzlinger (31) from Columbia, Mo., Ty Brandt (36) from Jefferson City, Mo. and Bryan Carden (46) from Jefferson City, Mo. For our male 10-11 division, the top three leaders include Will Kimes (43) from Columbia, Mo., Dawson Schnieders (44) from Jefferson City, Mo. and Marco Boccardi (45) from Fenton, Mo. Lastly, for our male 12-13 division, the top three leaders include, Archer Schnieders (72) from Jefferson City, Mo., Quinn Thomas (73) from Hannibal, Mo. and Patrick Johnston (73) from St. Joseph, Mo.

The men experienced the afternoon heat but stuck through it and played some great golf! Missouri Junior Amateur Championship

The Missouri Golf Association is proud to host the 35th Missouri Junior Amateur Championship at Meadow Lakes Country Club on July 9th and 10th. This year’s field is made up of 140 junior players from across the state, all hoping to win the championship.

This year the 8-9-year old’s division will play an 18-hole stroke play championship within the two days of the tournament, the 10-13-year-old division will play an 18-hole stroke play championship within the two days of the tournament, and then the 14-18 male and female divisions will also play a 36-hole stroke play championship.

This year will be the first year that the Missouri Golf Association has hosted the Junior Amateur Championship at Meadow Lakes Country Club. We look forward to hosting the championship here and are excited for the days ahead!
