The Missouri Golf Association is excited to announce this years Junior Girls Player of the Year. The Player of the Year award is presented to an outstanding junior female golfer who has excelled throughout the season. This year’s recipient is Amber Wilson of Camdenton, Mo. Amber graduated from Camdenton High School in May of 2018 and is currently a freshman at The University of Missouri St Louis and is a member of the women’s golf program.
Amber had a very dominate summer with wining multiple championships plus helping team Missouri Win the Junior Girls Fore State Cup matches in Iowa. She was runner up in the Class 2 High School State Championships. She was also runner up in the 2018 Junior Match Play Championship held at AL Gustin Golf Course in June. She followed up that play with winning the Missouri Junior Amateur at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club. Amber went on to place 15th in the Missouri Women’s Amateur Championship held at St Joseph Country Club.
The dominance continued during the Missouri Junior Tour circuit with Amber winning 6 of the 8 events while being named the Missouri Junior Tour Female player of the year as well. Amber also represented Missouri in the Southern States Cup matches in August for the 4th straight year.
