2017 Parent Child Championship

The final round of the 11th Annual Parent Child Championship was played today at the club at Porto Cima in Sunrise Beach. The day began again at 7:30 with the morning wave followed by the afternoon wave at noon. 

There were still eight flights for the final round. The morning wave consisted of the Championship, Watson, Super Senior and Century flights, and the Fricke, Lanning and Nicklaus flights played in the afternoon wave. 

There was a tie for first in the Championship flight between Buddy and Bobby Godwin and Scott and Frankie Thomas with a total score of 134. The Godwin duo shot a 67 both days of the championship with a total of 12 birdies, 23 pars and one double bogey. The Thomas team also shot a 67 both days and tallied one eagle, 12 birdies, 19 pars and four bogeys altogether. 

John Stevens and Brock Jones finished first in the Watson flight after scoring a 125 (63-62). The Swearingen’s had the lead in the flight after day one with a 61 but shot a 66 today to take second place. Randy and Adam Hoffman won the Super Senior flight after finishing with a total of 129 (63-66), and Brian and Robert Haskell came in second with a very close score of 130 (64-66). Rob and Bill Franklin took the lead today in the Century flight after ranking in second on day one. The teammates shot a 129 (65-64) to claim the title.  

In the afternoon wave, Brad and Dalton Roark shot a 131 (66-65) to take first in the Fricke flight. They had 13 birdies and 23 pars this week. Mike and Michael Snyder won the Lanning flight with a 127 (62-65). They carded a total of one eagle, 16 birdies, 18 pars and one bogey. The last group was the Nicklaus flight where there was another tie for first between John and Ann Fuchs and Steve and Lindsey Eisenreich with a 129. The Fuchs shot a 63 both days, and the Eisenreich duo shot a 59 on day one and a 67 today.

The Club at Porto Cima 

2017 Parent Child Championship

The Parent Child Championship began today at The Club at Porto Cima in Sunrise Beach. The Missouri Golf Association hosted the 11th annual event for the 80 participating teams for all different ages.The day began early at 7:30 for the morning wave and the afternoon wave at noon. 

The Championship was split among seven different flights. The flights included Championship, Watson, Lanning, Fricke, Nicklaus, Century and Super Senior. Every flight played a scramble format except the Championship flight, playing holes 1 through 6 scramble, hole 7 through 12 alternate shot and holes 13-18 best ball. 

Bobby and Buddy Godwin shot a 67 (5 under par) to hold the first place ranking in the Championship Flight. The duo finished with seven birdies, 10 pars and one double bogey. Stafford and Hawk Swearingen shot a 61 (11 under par) to lead the Watson Flight and completed with one eagle, 10 birdies, six pars and one bogey. In the Lanning Flight, Mike and Michael Snyder lead with a 62 (10 under par) after carding one eagle, nine birdies, seven pars and one bogey. Drew and Scott Higgins lead the Fricke Flight with a 66 (6 under par) and had seven birdies, 10 pars and one bogey. Steve and Lindsey Eisenreich are in first in the Nicklaus Flight after scoring a 59 (13 under par) with one eagle, 11 birdies and six pars. In the century division, Keith and Kevin Fick lead with a 62 (10 under par) and managed one eagle, eight birdies, and nine pars. Randy and Adam Hoffman hold the first place ranking in the Super Senior flight with a 63 (9 under par), finishing with a total of nine birdies and nine pars.
