June 12-15, 2017

Eldon Country Club

This year’s 17th Annual Junior Match Play Championship will be played at the Eldon Country Club from June 12-15, where 16 female and 44 male junior golfers will compete for the championship title. This is the first time the Championship has been played in Eldon.

The Junior Match Play Championship began in 2001 at Oak Meadow Country Club in Rolla, where Scott Seibert took the inaugural title. Since then, Will Hogan, from Ozark, and Brett Windsor, from Boonville, have each captured the title twice. Tanner Owen claimed the 2016 Junior Match Play Championship at the Mules National Golf Course in Warrensburg.

The Eldon Country Club is located in Central Missouri near the Lake of the Ozarks and has recently been voted Best Overall Public Golf Club in Lake of the Ozarks as well as a 2009 Reader’s Favorite. The 18-hole championship course is home to much entertainment and competition.

This year’s championship is open to all male and female competitors, ages 14-18, both competing in their own divisions. The practice round will be held on Sunday (June 11th) from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. and is first come first serve. Both male and female 18-hole stroke play will begin on Monday (June 12th). Those who qualify for match play will compete on Monday and Tuesday, playing 36 holes. The 18-hole Championship Match will be on Thursday (June 15th).

The MGA is excited to offer a brand-new social media stand at this year’s junior events. The stand will include a backdrop where individuals can take photos with various props, pose for pictures with our very own Snapchat filters and much, much more.  Follow us on all social media @missourigolf for up-to-date information.
